A general strike is being observed in Indian Occupied Kashmir, following the custodial martyrdom of a teacher.
Indian occupation forces arrested 28-year-old Rizwan Asad last week from Awantipora village of southern Pulwama district.
The occupation forces tortured and martyred Asad at a camp in Srinagar, during an investigation initiated by the National Investigation Agency.
Kashmir’s freedom struggle leaders condemned the custodial killing and called for a general strike.
Asad’s martyrdom sparked protests across the occupied valley, as thousands of Kashmiris shut down their businesses and held demonstrations.
Indian occupation forces fired tear gas and pellet guns to disperse the protesters, injuring many Kashmiris.
