DENMARK AND GERMANY SUSPEND MILITARY TRAINING IN IRAQ

The Dutch and German governments have suspended their military training missions in Iraq due to increasing regional tensions.

Regional threats have prompted the Dutch military to suspend training of Iraqi forces in Erbil city.

Germany has also suspended military training operations in Iraq because of the hostile regional situation. The German Defence Ministry said the training programmes would resume in coming days. Germany has deployed 160 troops to train local forces in Iraq.

Earlier, the United States ordered a pullout of non-emergency government employees from Iraq.

Meanwhile, Russia has expressed concern over the rising tensions between Iran and the US.
