10 people have been killed and 65 others wounded in a powerful car bomb near Kabul’s ‘Green Zone’ diplomatic area. The Zone is home to military and government buildings, including one shared by Afghanistan’s intelligence agency and defence ministry.
The rush-hour explosion shook buildings up to two kilometers away, sending a plume of smoke into the air. A security officials say several attackers stormed a building after breaking in with a powerful car bomb.
They say the area has been cordoned off by police special forces, as they battle the attackers. The Health ministry says the wounded have been rushed to hospital, warning the numbers could rise.
