A booming digital economy is reshaping China’s economy as technological advances are reviving traditional industries as well as encouraging high-quality development. From AI news broadcasters to even their street beggars now accepting payments via QR codes, China’s internet users are evolving at almost breakneck speed. Initiatives such as the government’s ‘Made in China 2025’ projects are designed to encourage and aid the country’s ideas-driven innovation.
It, therefore, comes as no surprise that one of the events most looked forward to each year is the China Internet Conference. The three day conference this year will be held in Beijing from July 9 to 11 at the National Convention Center.
An Artificial Intelligence Park full of interactive experience devices is only one of the highlights. The AI Park has attracted visitors from all over the world. The three day conference will also feature more than 30 themed forums such as Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), 5G technology and intellectual property rights protection, artificial intelligence, Internet security and governance, Prevention of Network Fraud, Personal Information and Data Protection, Internet Site Development and several others. Moreover, the themed exhibition “Review of the 25th Anniversary of China’s Access to the Internet” will be specifically organized and unveiled for this conference.
According to reports, the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union will be sending a video congratulatory message to the new future of the industry at the opening ceremony of the conference. Leaders attending will include the Minister of Industry and the Minister of Information Technology. Both will be invited to share their opinions on the development of the industry from the perspective of the competent department. The keynote speech on digital transformation and upgrading and future development will be delivered by Wu Hequan, renowned academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chairman of the China Internet Association.
It is pertinent to mention that the current Chinese Congress will soon also host the ‘Digital e-sports and Intelligent Economy Forum’ for the very first time. This forum is designed in hopes to provide a platform to experts and different enterprise representatives in order to further link up the evolution of the internet industry to the development of e-sports.
