Manager Zinedine Zidane says Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is “very close to leaving” the Spanish club. He was left out of Real’s 3-1 defeat in a pre-season clash by Bayern Munich in Houston, USA. After the game ended Zidane said, “We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.”
“I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done.” Bale joined Real in 2013 and still has three years remaining in his contract. During his time at Real, he managed to help his side to a LaLiga Santander title, a Supercopa de Espana, four Champions Leagues, three European Super Cups and four Club World Cups. He has scored more than a 100 goals and has been nicknamed as “the golfer” by his teammates. The Footballer has been linked with Manchester United, Tottenham and Bayern Munich. His contributions have indeed been fruitful.
In response to Zidane’s comments, Bale’s agent told AFP, “Zidane is a disgrace – he shows no respect for a player that has done so much for Real Madrid.” He has been offered a place in the Chinese super league and if accepted, he will be in line to become highest paid footballer in the world, even leading Lionel Messi behind. Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan offered the phenomenal deal after Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane said he wanted the Welshman out as soon as possible.
After the Frenchman’s appointment as the club’s third coach of the season, Jonathan Barnett told BBC Sport that his nomination was “bad news” because he did not want to work with Bale and the two men disagreed on playing style.
